New Delhi: Tata Motors, a domestic automaker, has displayed the Altroz in iCNG form. The premium hatchback has been spotted at a brand's dealership in the most recent development, ahead of its official launch on our soil.

The car has twin-CNG cylinders, a first for the segment, to help open up the trunk without sacrificing storage space. See what else the cost-effective four-wheeler has to offer below.

CNG is an excellent substitute due to the rising costs of petrol and diesel as well as the developing infrastructure for EV charging. In addition to being less expensive than conventional fossil fuels, it also produces fewer tailpipe emissions, making it a significantly greener alternative.

Tata Motors launched the iCNG range in India in order to capitalise on the advantages of CNG.

The upcoming Altroz iCNG adheres to the brand's contemporary design ethos and is supported by Tata's modular ALFA-ARC platform. It has a bulky hood, swept-back projector headlights, fog lights with integrated DRLs, a blacked-out honeycomb mesh grille, ORVMs mounted with indicators, flared wheel arches, and 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels from the base model. At the back, there is a shark-fin antenna and wraparound LED taillamps.

The Tata Altroz iCNG maintains the roomy five-seater cabin of the base model inside. It features a dual-tone dashboard, premium fabric upholstery, an electric sunroof that can be opened with your voice, ambient lighting, automatic climate control, and a steering wheel that is wrapped in leather. The hatchback also has a Harman audio system, a 7.0-inch infotainment screen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, and a semi-digital instrument cluster.

The Altroz iCNG's 1.2-liter, "Revotron," bi-fuel engine produces 76 horsepower and 97 pound-feet of torque. The Altroz iCNG's fuel efficiency in CNG mode has not yet been officially disclosed by Tata Motors. The premium hatchback is projected to have a mileage of about 27 km/kg, though.

The Tata Altroz is currently India's safest hatchback with a 5-star safety rating from Global NCAP. Since the iCNG model is structurally the same as the standard model and has not been specifically tested, we anticipate a similar outcome. To increase safety, Tata Motors also added a smart microswitch and a leak detection feature to the vehicle.

The Altroz iCNG's Indian price will soon be revealed by Tata Motors. With a nominal payment of Rs. 21,000, the economical hatchback can now be reserved in advance. We anticipate that the ex-showroom price will be around Rs. 7 lakh.
