Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh State Election Commission (SEC) is planning to seek legal assistance. The decision was taken in the wake of criticism of legislators and ruling party members over the decision to hold the village panchayat elections in February next year.

State Election Commissioner N. Ramesh Kumar took seriously the objectionable comments made by Civil Supplies Minister Kodali Sri Venkateswara Rao alias Kodali Nani and others. The minister and other YSRC leaders spoke in a very unnatural and vulgar language about the SEC's decision to hold village panchayat elections after consultation with the state government in February.

The SEC has personally complained to Governor Vishwabhushan Harichandan and demanded action against the Commissioner for making such unacceptable remarks.

Sources say that the commissioners can approach the AP High Court or the Supreme Court to make obscene comments on the ruling party MLAs and leaders, reduce the sanctity of the Election Commission and directly target the Commissioner.

The commissioners are currently competing against the evidence against the state government to attend the court and how this could hamper the SEC's plan to proceed with the panchayat elections. The SEC is also likely to give necessary instructions to allow the court to discharge its constitutional obligations by complaining and conducting the elections in a free and fair manner.

Meanwhile, the election commissioner's attempts to organise village panchayat elections through video conferencing on Thursday failed to allow the state government to take action against the district collectors and other officials. Is there. This is the second time that the authorities have refused cooperation for attending the video conference.

In the exception of the officials of the East and West Godavari districts, the revenue sources said that the communication was sent to the concerned authorities for a second video conference with district collectors and other officials, while Union Minister Jalshakti Gajendra Singh Shekhawat decided to hold a video conference with them. But the meeting was not held when the government refused to allow it.
