Panaji: Bjp has almost refused to give ticket to Former Goa CM Manohar Parrikar's son Utpal Parrikar for assembly elections. This is being said because senior BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis had said on Wednesday that his party does not give tickets only because someone is the leader's son. The first priority for getting tickets is 'qualification'. Fadnavis' statement is believed to be in relation to Utpal Parrikar.

The same Assembly elections are proposed in Goa on February 14. Elections are scheduled to be held in 40 assembly seats in the state. In such a situation, all political parties and leaders are putting their breath on. Meanwhile, protests over seats have also started rising rapidly. Former Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar's son Utpal Parrikar is constantly making his claim to his father's political legacy. Utpal Panaji is trying to get a party ticket from the assembly seat. However, the BJP is yet to clarify its stand on it.

After being ignored in giving the same assembly election ticket, Utpal Parrikar on Thursday questioned the BJP whether the party believes in honesty and character or not?' Utpal said, 'I am a small party worker and cannot comment on what a senior leader like Devendra Fadnavis has said. But if I want to ask for a ticket only because I am the son of (late) Manohar Parrikar, I would have demanded it for the last time (during the by-election after Parrikar's death). It may be noted that former Defence Minister Parrikar passed away on May 17, 2019.
