'Anti-hijab' movement reaches Turkey, famous singer cuts her hair on stage

Tehran: Muslim women in Iran are being brutally oppressed by the Islamic government there for their rights. Many women have lost their lives in Iran police firing, yet the women are not ready to back down and are openly opposing fundamentalism. At the same time, amid the ongoing anti-hijab protests across Iran, the police there have arrested Fazeh Hashemi, the daughter of former President Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani. Fazeh is accused of supporting women protesters in Iran's capital Tehran.

At the same time, in support of the anti-Hijab protest in Iran by Iranian women, well-known Turkish singer Malek Mosso cut her hair in public during a stage show. In fact, today, hair has become a symbol of freedom for Muslim women. Iran's women are getting support from all over the world in the anti-hijab protest movement. It includes people from the upper strata of society to the lower strata. People all over the world are expressing support for Iranian women in various ways.   

 

The daughter of former President Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani has been a vocal critic of Iran's policies. She was also arrested in 2009 after protests. In the same year, she was arrested on charges of sacrilege and working against the government. Not only this but she was also accused of insulting Prophet Muhammad. Hashmi's father Ali Akbar Hashmi Rafsanjani has been among those who established Islamic rule in Iran. He was president of Iran twice. Ali Akbar passed away in 2017.

On September 13, 2022, Mehsa Amini was arrested by the Moral Police in Iran for showing hair from the hijab. After which the Moral Police beat Amini and she went to coma. On September 16, the day after her arrest, Mehsa succumbed to her injuries during treatment. Since then, anti-hijab protests have erupted in Iran, which have become violent due to the government's repressive policies. The anti-hijab movement has so far killed about 76 people, including four women, in Iran.
