The BJP is draining Tripura's resources: Alleges Congress

Sudip Roy Barman, a Congress leader, took a jab at the BJP-IPFT government in Tripura, claiming that the state's wealth is being drained under the BJP's rule. "There is a bargaining racket active in the state," Barman stated. It is run by a small group of persons, and all illegal discussions are carried out according to their whims. Companies from other states are invited and given contracts in place of hefty shares.."

He went on to say that work that could easily be done by the contractors of our state in far lesser estimates are being offered to outside players and that too at a higher estimated cost. These people (BJP leaders) are looting the people of Tripura.  "On the one hand, people's purchasing power is dwindling in the state, while on the other hand, money that should be flowing through Tripura's markets is being pushed out for the benefit of a small group of individuals," Barman said.

He also said that the ruling party is suppressing democracy's voice. "They aren't interested in a democratic system." I'd want to appeal to the kids to turn away from the road of darkness. This kind of brutality will get you nowhere. When you are no longer needed, these leaders who you are following will throw away like a disposable syringe. "The Congress party will restore your faith in humanity; we will not jeopardise your future," he said.

This muscle-flexing tactic, according to Barman, could not stop the Congress party's growth in Tripura. "Attacks and violence will not be able to stop us." I'd want to remind the BJP that their days are numbered. "People are ready to bid you a permanent farewell in the upcoming assembly elections," Barman stated. At the presence of TPCC President Birajit Sinha and other senior officials, he was talking at a Congress joining the programme in Kumarghat.
