New Delhi: The folk singer Basudeb Das who fed food to Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Wednesday that he could not talk to the Home Minister as Shah had gone after lunch at his Santiniketan residence. The state's Trinamool Congress (TMC) government has promised to provide financial assistance to slaves who are cutting the day in poverty. On the other hand, the BJP claims that the Trinamool government has seen the problems of the folk singer only after Shah's visit to his home.

Das says he will visit CM Mamata Banerjee's rally in the district on 29th December. The chairman of TMC's Birbhum district, Anubrata Mandal, has promised to provide financial assistance to Das on behalf of the State Government. "Shah Ji is such a big person, I had to say something to him," said Das, who was sitting next to the mandal at the TMC office. I wanted to tell him about the status of boul artists and want to know if something could be done. ''

He further said, "The state government is helping us, but can the centre do something in this regard. But the most important thing is that I wanted to tell him what economic difficulties I am facing in my daughter's higher education. My daughter has recently passed MA". Das said that he was very happy that Shah came to his house, ate the food there and heard his boul anthem, but he was pained not to get an opportunity to talk to the Union Home Minister.
