Janjgir: The rescue operation to pull out an 11-year-old boy who fell into a deep pit dug up for a borewell in the Janjgir-Champa district of Chhattisgarh has been going on for the past nearly 42 hours. The CM's office has reported that Rahul, who fell into the borewell, is now helping to fill the water from the bucket himself. In fact, a little water is seeping from the walls of the borewell and the child is helping to fill the water in the vessel sent from above. The robotics team from Gujarat has also reached the spot and is engaged in the rescue operation.

According to the CM's office, the next 3 to 4 hours are crucial in Rahul's rescue. Rahul's health is being reported under the supervision of the district magistrate. Medical officers are being constantly consulted. Rahul's movement is visible in the camera intermittently. Every effort is being made to get Rahul out of the borewell safely. A team of hundreds of officers and employees are continuously working to construct a tunnel up to the borewell without stopping. The NDRF team is preparing to land in the pit soon.

A parallel pit is being dug at some distance from the borewell to pull out the same child. The rescue operation is being assisted by experts from National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and the Indian Army. The team of doctors has made arrangements for Rahul to deliver oxygen inside the borewell.
