The city's author's latest book 'Tales from a Bygone Era'

Hyderabad: JA Rama Murthy, an author and a veteran mass media academic, dedicated his latest book 'Tales from a Bygone Era' to late Professor B Balaswamy, who passed away on May 7. In this regard, Murthy met OU Vice-Chancellor Professor D Ravinder and handed over a copy of the book. JA Rama Murthy, who has taught UG and PG students at Osmania University apart from reputed institutes like Bhawan College of Communication and Management.

He was accompanied by Professor K Stevenson, Head, Department of Communications and Journalism, OU, while handing over a copy of the book. Published by Delhi-based Blue Rose Publishers, the book is a memoir of the author's years of work and his life and times in different parts of the country. Osmania University started the 3-year BA (Hons) program from the academic year 2021-22. It will be offered in OU's constituent colleges – University College for Women, Koti, and Nizam College both with an initial intake of 60 each.

The courses were initiated by B Vinod Kumar, Vice President, Telangana State Planning Board along with Vani Devi, MLC and Naveen Mittal, Commissioner Collegiate and Technical Education. Naveen Mittal mentioned that the proposed curriculum will enable the students to acquire a complete conceptual framework and offer a wide range of career options due to the choice of subjects and enhance the possibilities of pursuing research.
