Lucknow: The All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) has objected to the issue amid ongoing discussions on the Uniform Civil Code (Uniform Civil Code) and demanded a law on blasphemy. Officials and members of the board say that the Muslim community will not accept it at all. Eleven proposals were passed on Sunday (November 21, 2021) on the last day of the two-day session at Madarsa Darul Talim and Sanat (DTS) Jajmau in Kanpur.

While issues of wakf properties and conversions were important, the board protested against forced conversions and non-religious marriages. The board said the Centre should enact a law (Blasphemy Law) on blasphemy. Talking to reporters after the session, Dr Qasim Rasool Ilyas, Media Coordinator, Board said that the Constitution empowers every citizen to believe in his religion and inform others about it. The Uniform Civil Code is not correct in a multi-religious society and is against the fundamental rights of the Constitution. The Board has demanded the government not to impose a uniform civil code on Muslims.  He said it will interfere in the religious rights of Muslims and sharia law. He said the board opposes forced conversions.

At the same time, the Board said that strict action should be taken against those who comment on the Prophet of Islam. The resolution said that some indecent comments were made against prophet Mohammad Saheb recently. Sadly, however, the government did not take any action against those who did so. At the same time, the Board demanded special steps from the government to check the increasing atrocities on minorities, Dalits and other weaker sections in the session. The conference urged Muslims to follow Shariah, marry simply and not ask for dowry and asked them to resolve disputes through mediation and if no one is resolved, visit Darul Qaza.
