In fact, the hospital authorities as well as the hospital's patient welfare committee were stunned by a monthly bill of Rs one crore given by a contractor to Katwa Subdivisional Hospital. At the same time, the most interesting thing during this period is that the bill presented by the drug supplier agency shows a bill of Rs 3.20 lakh and furniture of Rs 82,000 in view of the supply of Biryani plates.

Not only this, but another huge bill related to the cost of planting saplings in the park of this hospital has shocked the health department officials. Yes, both the cases belong to Katwa Sub-Divisional Hospital in East Burdwan district. On the other hand, health department sources say that Katwa sub-divisional hospital has received a bill of Rs 3 lakh for biryani in a month. Yes and the hospital management has signed and passed the said bill.

Let us tell you that another such feat of the said hospital has come to the fore. The management has passed a bill to spend two lakh rupees on plantation in the hospital's park. In this matter, sources said that after this news came to light, there has been a stir in the health department of the state. At the same time, the investigation of the bill has been started by the department, but till now it is not known which officials of the hospital management have signed both the above bills. Dr Saubhik Alam, Medical Superintendent of Katwa Hospital, said, “Also, bills were submitted at least one month before the issue of work orders and supplies. After we got suspicious, the Deputy Chief Medical Officer-II in Katwa has started its investigation.”

On the other hand, Subarno Goswami, Deputy CMOH-2 said today, we have started investigation against the alleged fake bills. We have been asked to register an FIR against the persons responsible for such misleading claims. We are likely to complete the investigation at the earliest.” The Rogi Kalyan Samiti was also sent to investigate the matter and the committee is headed by Katwa MLA Rabindranath Chatterjee. In fact, he said, "How the official stamps were used to identify receipts against counterfeit supplies should also be investigated and we suspect a messy deal behind it."
