One such case came to light at the post mortem house in Rudrapur. The body of the covid infected was kept in the post mortem house after his death at the medical college. The body was lying in the post mortem house for 2 days waiting for their loved ones. It came to light that the body started to smell of rotting. Two days later, the brother of the deceased arrived and cremated the body.

The brother of the covid infected deceased is posted at Bareilly Army Camp. A number found in the pocket of the deceased on Wednesday was contacted. After which the brother of the deceased reached Rudrapur post mortem house from Bareilly and took the body of the brother to the crematorium at Kichcha Highway. Subhash Chhabra, manager of crematorium land at  Kichcha Highway, said he had received a call from an officer and municipal worker late on Monday evening. The duo said the body of a covid infected was rotting in the post mortem house. He has to be cremated. They waited till midnight on Monday for the funeral of the infected. The post mortem of the covid infected deceased is done under the protocol. The police administration jointly cremates unidentified persons in case of their death due to covid. The body kept in the post mortem was reported to have smelled a foul smell. Kotwali police were sent to the spot and the body had gone for cremation.
