New Delhi: The country's first Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat will be cremated at Brar Square Crematorium in Delhi Cantt on Friday. However, his mortal remains were earlier kept at his house where prominent persons including leaders paid homage to him. Leaders who paid homage to General Bipin Rawat included people like Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Home Minister Amit Shah. Besides, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also paid homage to CDS Rawat.

After paying homage to the Chief of Defence Staff, his mortal remains were placed on a military truck and taken to Brar Square Crematorium. Because of this, army officers could be seen all around. General Rawat was saluted by the officers and the truck was then flagged off from his house. Due to this, the truck was decorated with flowers. When the truck left with the mortal remains, a crowd of media and general public could be seen outside the house.

When the truck carrying the mortal remains of General Bipin Rawat left for Brar Square Crematorium in Delhi Cantt, people could be seen standing around the truck. The crowd of people on the streets could be clearly seen. People bid a final farewell to General Bipin Rawat and raised slogans in his memory. People were seen shouting slogans like 'As long as the sun remains the moon, Bipin ji's name will remain'. Let me tell you that General Rawat's wife Madhulika Rawat has also died in the helicopter crash. The mortal remains of CDS General Bipin Rawat and his wife Madhulika Rawat were brought to Brar Square Crematorium in Delhi Cantt.
