Mumbai: Maharashtra's Palghar, Thane and Mumbai have recorded a rise of 350 per cent, 192 per cent and 136 per cent of the new cases of corona in the last one week respectively. After 4 days, probably due to less testing on Sunday, Mumbai saw a decrease in the new cases of corona on Monday. Mumbai on Monday (out of the state's 1,036 new cases) recorded 676 fresh cases. Health Minister Rajesh Tope said that the rate of hospital admission in the state and Mumbai remains low.  

Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope on Monday said that amid rising corona cases in the state, wearing a mask is not mandatory, but people should use it voluntarily so as to prevent the spread of corona infection. Corona cases are increasing rapidly in Maharashtra. For the second consecutive day on Monday, more than 1,000 new cases were detected in the state. On Monday, 1,036 new cases were reported. If you look at the average of the last 7 days, this is the highest since February 26, when the corona cases started decreasing. The positivity rate is also 4.25 per cent, the highest since February 13.

On the other hand, as soon as corona cases started increasing in Bengaluru. Similarly, the city's civic agency has made masks mandatory in public places and decided to increase the testing of the infection to 20,000 per day from the existing 16,000 per day.
