Meanwhile, Karnataka CM BS Yediyurappa broke his silence for the first time on speculation of a leadership change in the state and said on Sunday that he will resign on the day he is demanded to step down. I don't think the BJP has any option for leadership in the state, the Chief Minister said, 'I will resign the day the party high command asks me to resign'. The 78-year-old CM's strong and clear statement comes shortly after BJP vice president and his son BY Vijayendra met party national president JP Nadda.

He further added, 'As long as the Delhi high command have faith on me I will continue as CM, the CM said. The day they tell me that I have to step down, I will resign and join fully to work for the welfare of the State. My stand is clear. They have given me an opportunity and I am trying to use it to the best of my ability. The rest has been left to the central leadership'. He said lack of options will not be a problem if he is to resign as CM.

At the same time, Yediyurappa said, "There is always an option in any state across the country. I don't think there is any alternative in Karnataka. I will continue as CM as long as the central leadership have faith on me". It may be noted that there has been speculation in the state for the past few days that some steps are being taken to replace CM B S Yeddyurappa within the ruling BJP in the state. However, the BJP has officially denied such speculation.
