The crime case that has come up recently is that of Shahjahanpur. In this case, the married woman went missing from her maternal home on 6 February and later her body was found lying in a sugarcane field in Farrukhabad. In this case, Mirzapur police station reached the spot and refused to investigate the matter by telling the location of Shamsabad area. It has been reported that late-night Shamsabad police sent the dead body to the post-mortem and it has been confirmed to have been strangled to death 19 days ago. The father has accused the son-in-law of killing the daughter.

Suresh Chandra, resident of Bhudia Chak, village of Katra district of Shahjahanpur, married his daughter Mamta (28) with Santosh, resident of Umberpur village of Pali, Hardoi district, 5 years ago.  They have a two-year-old son Shailendra. Mamta was in her maternal home for some days. On February 6, she had left her house to go to Katra market and left her son Shailendra at the house of uncle Naresh Kashyap. It was a long time after that but she did not reach home.

After much investigation, Suresh filed a case of the kidnapping of daughter at Katra police station on 23 February. After that, her body was found and the police started investigating. At the post-mortem house of Mamta, Suresh told that 'son-in-law Santosh and his family used to torture her for dowry. These people were demanding bikes. She was upset with this. Police say that investigation will be done now and the case will be cleared soon.
