Telangana: The death toll has risen to nine after two more women were injured in a road accident during hospital treatment. The police gave this information on Friday.

Seven people, including six women working in the field, were killed and injured in an accident on thursday on the highway, police said. There are 20 women in the autorickshaw along with the driver.

The truck driver was drunk at the time of the incident, the official said. He was detained. The dead include an autorickshaw driver. There were 20 passengers in the autorickshaw when the accident occurred at Angadipeta on hyderabad-nagarjuna sagar highway, 70 km from Nalgonda. This includes women working in all fields except the driver, who are returning home after work. To move forward, the truck hit the autorickshaw coming from the front.

Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao condoled the incident. Medical authorities have been asked to provide better treatment to the injured. Rao said that the families of the deceased were comforted.
