New Delhi: Indian Air Force on Tuesday noticed an-32 aircraft wreckage in Arunachal Pradesh during the search operation. Air Force helicopter Mi-17 spotted its debris at an altitude of about 12 thousand feet in the northeast area of Tatto. On June 3, the aircraft flew from Jorhat airbase in Assam. There were 13 people on board. The contact was broken shortly after takeoff.

As per information received from sources, the Air Force said that cheetah and advanced light helicopters were deployed after the wreckage of the aircraft was detected. However, helicopters were not able to reach the spot due to extreme altitude and dense forest. The landing site closest to the scene has been identified. The planes will resume rescue operations on Wednesday morning.

With this, an AN-32 aircraft was also searched through Naval reconnaissance aircraft P-8a and ISRO satellites. The P-8i aircraft was used because of the forest is very dense. The aircraft is equipped with electro-optical and infrared sensors. It has a very powerful synthetic aperture radar. The P-8i aircraft was built by Boeing Co. of the United States. It is a long-range reconnaissance aircraft and now the Navy has 8 such aircraft.
