The family members of a boy who was declared brain dead by doctors have decided to donate the organs under State-run Jeevandan organ donation drive. The name of the young man was Komire Naveena who had completed his intermediate and was working as a daily wage earner in Peddapalli. He was 21-year-old.

On August 31, Komire Naveen, a resident of Gowreddipeta village, Raghavapur, Peddapalli district, was travelling on a two-wheeler but suddenly he lost control and fell down. The youngster received critical head injuries and was immediately rushed to a local hospital for emergency treatment. Later, local doctors advised the family to shift him as his condition was critical. Hence, he was taken to Yashoda Hospital, Secunderabad on September 1.

After seven-days of emergency treatment, the young man did not respond to the treatment and on September 8, Naveen was declared brain dead due to severe head injuries. The Jeevandan coordinator and hospital officials convoyed grief counselling sessions and highlighted the importance of organ donation. Naveen’s father Komire Saidaiah and mother Komire Saramma and other family members gave their permission for organ donation.
