Overcoming Postpartum Depression is not easy, it depends on the mother and her willingness to fight it! It can take months to recognize that you have a problem that needs treatment.

5 stages that a mother will go through:

# Stage 1: Denial

At first, you wouldn't know you are facing a problem. You would brush it off as just a normal thing that happens with every mother after pregnancy and you would expect it to go away in a few weeks or days.

# Stage 2: Anger

This comes in when you know you have a problem. You tend to question that why this has happened to you when you are supposed to be happy with your baby? To add to it you tend to get angry because you don't want to go for therapy and be on medication. You tend to get frustrated and angry.

# Stage 3: Bargaining

At this stage you try to find excuses and start bargaining with yourself. You think of other ways to solve your issue like exercising or praying which delays things and makes it worse.

# Stage 4: Depression

This stage is the onset of depression where things start getting serious. You blame yourself for everything and feel like everyone is suffering because of you. At this stage, you feel like disappearing to make others happy because you feel like they will be much better off without you.

# Stage 5: Accepting

Finally, at this stage you accept that you have got a problem and you need help. You accept therapy and see a doctor at this stage, and you start getting treated for your problem.
