Amitabh Bachchan-hosted show 'Kaun Banega Crorepati 14' is about to air, director Arun Sheshkumar talks to a media person about the procedure to make a non-fiction show like 'KBC' work for viewers that are diverse, Big B in the spotlight, and changes made in the new season of the show.

He said: "The essence of 'KBC' is that this is one show where your knowledge is your talent. Your talent is your fate. You don't need to know singing or dancing or any kind of an extra co-curricular knack per se. What you are reading or what you have studied is what you are presenting onto the show as your personal life and your experience."

"So, 'KBC' fascinate those kinds of people to come and share their knowledge in terms of general knowledge, current affairs, and the aspiration to win big amount and change their fate."

He further shared how he imagined Amitabh Bachchan at the centre of his directorial outlook.

"Mr. Bachchan is the main point of the show and he is a conductor, as we call it. He is the man who is taking this whole show forward called 'Kaun Banega Crorepati'. The beauty with which he accommodates and adapts into the condition is a director's charm. Watch him adjust to the situations and ease out the players or bring the stress onto the game. It's like the word is given and it's a go."

"As far as running the whole show and the way this entire set works, it is firstly because Mr. Bachchan at the time of the first season had said, ‘one condition I'll enter TV and host this show is if we run this professionally.' That has been primary stress of keeping everything very disciplined and organized and the atmosphere very warm. The spotlight is, of course on, Mr. Bachchan and we try to keep him well-comforted so that he can pleasantly run the entire show, the way he wants," he added.

On the different changes that have been implanted in the making of the new season of the show, the director opened up that the 14th season of 'Kaun Banega Crorepati' will bring back the passion of 75 years of Independence in the show as well.

"This year, there is a lot more to provide not only to the participants but also to the audience sitting at home. Celebrating the spirit of 75 years of Independence, we will conduct a special episode on Sunday, August 7, to celebrate 'Azaadi ke Garv ka Mahaaparv', in the presence of very exceptional guests who represent India." "Further bringing to life the spirit of Independence, this season, contestants will be provided with higher rewards. Launching the 'New Padaav', this time, the contestants can enter the safe place with a win of INR 75 lakhs and can further go on to win the highest prize money of 7.5 crores. For the audience sitting at home, this year, the fulfillment of 'Play Along' will be instant as players will get to sit on the hot seat every Friday."

The other culmination of the season includes 3 lifelines - Audience Poll, Video-call-a-Friend and 50:50 adding enthusiasm to the game play.

"After a fantastic success of the children's special week in the last season, the current season will see little masterminds taking the hot seat. These are the important changes to the format. The set has got a fresh new look. It stays with its modernity yet it's classy and has got a lot of new content around. That's what audience should look forward to," he explained about the format of the show.
