Ranchi: Lalu Prasad Yadav, who is serving a sentence in the fodder scam, is in good health and is undergoing treatment at RIMS, while his medical doctor Dr Umesh Prasad has been sent a show-cause notice for unauthorized rhetoric in the media. Virendra Bhushan, Inspector General of Prisons, Jharkhand, citing the latest medical report of Lalu Prasad Yadav received from Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), said that Lalu Prasad Yadav's health is stable and there is no threat to his health in any way.

Earlier, Lalu Prasad Yadav's doctor Dr Umesh Prasad was quoted by some TV channels and newspapers as saying that Lalu's health is not good and the kidneys are functioning with a capacity of only 25%. On being asked in this regard, Dr Kameshwar Prasad, Director of RIMS, while giving information, said that in the local media, the health of Lalu Prasad Yadav was reported by Dr Umesh Prasad Hawale, but when Dr Prasad got the reason for this, the question was asked after giving a notice.

So he has given a written reply saying that he has not spoken to the media in this regard and whatever information has been published or circulated by him is baseless.
