New Delhi: Amid the growing cases of omicrons, Dr Tedros Adhanom, head of the WHO (World Health Organization), has said that 2022 could be the last year of the corona epidemic. But for this, developed countries will have to share their vaccines with other countries. He said the corona infection has entered its third year. The director of the WHO is confident that the corona infection will end in 2022. But hoarders of active nationalism and vaccines can be a hindrance.

Dr Tedros said that the inequality of corona vaccines has created ideal conditions for variants like Omicron to flourish. He said that the higher the vaccine disparity, the higher the risk of an infection developing. We can't even guess it. The latest statistics show that many parts of the world are lagging behind. Countries like Burundi, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Chad and Hatty have a fully vaccinated population of less than 1%. While in high-income countries, the number is estimated to be more than 70 percent. Dr Tedros said that only after dealing with this inequality can we imagine returning to a normal life.

In his statement, he explained, 'If we end inequality, the epidemic will end. Global Vaccine Facility COVAX, WHO and our partners are working around the world to make vaccines, tests and treatment accessible to people they need.' He said millions of lives have been saved so far on the basis of the vaccine. Doctors now have new medicines and medical tools to prevent and treat corona.
