Dehradun: The mortal remains of martyr Lance Naik Chandrashekhar reached Haldwani at 12.15 pm today. A crowd of people gathered here to pay tribute to the martyr. Due to this, his family members were not shown the face of the martyr. The family got only ten minutes to pay their last respects.

The body of martyr Chandrashekhar could not reach home on Tuesday. The locals made the entire street tricolour as a mark of respect and to pay tribute to him. A car decorated with flowers has also been prepared to pay their last respects. When it was found that the body could not be brought on Tuesday, there was a disappointment. On Wednesday, the body of martyr Lance Naik Chandrashekhar Harbola was brought home with patriotic chants. Where about 10 minutes were given the last glimpse to the family. Subsequently, the mortal remains of the martyr have been brought to the tribute site. Cm Pushkar Singh Dhami paid tribute to the martyr here.

On Tuesday, Mayor Jogendra Singh Rautela also reached the martyr's house and consoled the family members. The mortal remains of Lance Naik Chandrashekhar, who was killed in Siachen 38 years ago, could not be brought home on Tuesday due to inclement weather. According to administrative officials, the body was to be brought to Haldwani as soon as the weather returned to normal in Leh-Ladakh. Here, on the news of getting the body of martyr Chandrashekhar, the 38-year-old pain once again came down in the eyes of his family members.
