Nagpur: In today's time, every third person uses social media platforms. Due to this, many people also become victims of cheating. One such case has come to light from Maharashtra where a 67-year-old farmer from the Nagpur district of the state was duped of Rs 34,000 in an attempt to buy a cow online through Facebook. The police reported this on Wednesday. An officer of the Parsivni police station said farmer Sukhdev Pandurang Gurve (67), a resident of Khandala village, has filed a police complaint against a man who had given his name as Sonu Kumar on Facebook.

The same Gurve recently received an offer through Facebook stating that he could buy two cows for Rs 58,000. In such a situation, he contacted Sonu Kumar, who put the ad on Facebook and decided the deal. The farmer put a total of Rs 34,000 in his bank account in 3 instalments. However, Kumar stopped responding after that. Gurve realised that something was wrong and that he had been cheated.

Thereafter, he approached the police and registered a case. The officer said a case was registered under Section 420 (cheating) of the IPC in this regard. Let us know that this is not the first incident of loot and fraud through Facebook, but such incidents have been reported in the past. Many times, innocent children have been trapped and robbed through this social media platform, many times things like love, sex and deception have also come to the fore. Things like rape have also been happening through Facebook by falling into the trap of love.
