A farmer committed suicide in Ludhiana district of Punjab. He feared his murder. It was out of fear that he took this step. The deceased farmer Kulwant Singh was a resident of village Kalsan. He ended his life by swallowing poison.

Nine months ago, Puneet Singh of the same village had also broken Kulwant's leg. Now the criminals even threatened to break his other leg and kill him. Due to this, Kulwant Singh was stressed and he feared that Puneet would murder him. On the complaint of Kulwant's mother Karamjit Kaur, a case has been registered against Puneet Singh and his father Nikku Singh and Baldev Singh at Raikot Sadar police station. All three are residents of village Kalsan.

Police say that all three are still absconding. Search is going on. Karamjit Kaur has told the police that her two sons Kulwant and Bhagwant Singh Kala used to do farming with their father Jagdev Singh. About 9 months ago, Puneet had broken Kulwant's leg. Recently his younger son Bhagwant Singh Kala was in jail. Meanwhile, Puneet and his father Nikku Singh had also threatened to break Kulwant's other leg and kill him. Troubled by this, Kulwant swallowed poison on October 15. He was admitted to a private hospital in Raikot. He died after 8 days on Sunday.
