New Delhi: The first lunar eclipse of this year is going to happen on next Friday (May 5, 2023). Let us tell you that a lunar eclipse occurs when the Earth comes between the Sun and the Moon. This time this lunar eclipse is going to happen in Libra. This lunar eclipse is going to be very special, because after 139 years this eclipse is happening on Buddha Purnima. From the religious point of view, the incident of eclipse is considered extremely inauspicious and during this time any auspicious work is prohibited. People are advised by scholars to chant only the name of God during eclipse.  

According to the report, the lunar eclipse on May 5 will be a penumbral lunar eclipse, which will not be visible in India. That's why its Sutak period will also not be valid in India. But, this lunar eclipse will be visible in places like Europe, Central Asia, Australia, Africa, Atlantic, Indian Ocean and Antarctica. According to Indian time, this lunar eclipse will be in the above countries from 8.44 pm to 1.02 am in the middle of the night. 

Explain that, a lunar eclipse occurs when the Sun, the Earth and the Moon are aligned, so the Earth comes between the two and the Moon is covered in the Earth's shadow for some time. This eclipse will last from 8:44 in the night to around 01:02 in the midnight. The duration of this lunar eclipse will be about 04 hours 15 minutes. Along with this, the lunar eclipse is going to take place in Libra and here the conjunction of Moon and Ketu is being formed. In such a situation, the first vision of the Moon will fall on Aries. That's why the people of Aries and Libra will have to be very careful with this lunar eclipse.
