Islamabad: The arrest of Hafiz Saeed, head of the Jamaat-ud-Dawa terror outfit by the Pakistan Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), has been questioned by a former Pakistani diplomat. Former Pakistani diplomat Wajid Shamsul says the arrest of Hafid Saeed is only a sham. The former diplomat claimed that the arrest of Pakistan terror mastermind Hafiz Saeed was only to deceive the world.

Wajid wrote an article on a news portal. In his article, he writes, "The ninth arrest of the Chief of the Jamaat-ud-Dawa is directly related to the visit of Pakistan's PM Imran Khan to Washington." In a tweet, Trump described it as the result of his continued efforts.

According to the news agency ANI, he wrote, "Hafiz's arrest prompted U.S. President Donald Trump to make quick remarks. Trump has described Hafiz's arrest as a success of his efforts. However, it is also clear that Hafiz Saeed's case is of great importance to the US. At the same time, Hafiz's case for Pakistan is important as he is the biggest leader of the proxy war in the eyes of the US," he said.
