Whenever the story of friendship is told in the Bollywood film industry, the example of Om Puri and Naseeruddin Shah is definitely given. Both of them started their film careers together. Both of them saw many ups and downs in their careers, but they never left each other's side. Once nasiruddin was even attacked by a man. Om Puri saved his life by becoming the messiah.

Bollywood's famous actor Om Puri is no longer in this world, but he is always in the heart of Naseeruddin. The reason behind this is not just their friendship but the favour that Om Puri did to them. The actor mentioned this in  his auto biography 'And Give One Day: A Memoir' and how Om Puri had saved Naseer's life by playing on his own and rushed to the hospital on time.

Referring to the incident, Naseeruddin Shah wrote in the book that once the restaurant was sitting with Om Puri and his friends. Everything was going well when suddenly there was an attack on them from behind. Further, Nasir wrote that an old friend of his had attacked him with a knife and at that time Om Puri showed his promptness and played on his life and snatched the knife from the man and immediately took Nasiruddin to the hospital in a police vehicle. According to the autobiography of Naseeruddin Shah, the incident took place in the year 1977. Due to the incident, the shooting of the film 'Bhumika' was going on. Om and Nasir had gone to eat at the restaurant when one of their old friends Jaspal secretly sat behind and stabbed Nasir in the back. Naseer has written that Om entered the police car without permission and was asking the police to treat me with humility. He was eventually taken to The Cooper Hospital in Juhu.
