Raipur: A case of alleged attempt to convert under the guise of Changai Sabha in Jashpur district of Chhattisgarh has come to light. Police have arrested four people, including a priest, in the case. It is alleged that the priests were collecting about 50 people, including women and children from the village, asking them to leave Hinduism and convert to Christianity .

District police officials said on Tuesday that police have arrested Pastor Arun Kujur, Pastor Basant Lakda, Pastor Salmon Tigga and Pastor Dino Kujur for allegedly attempting to convert under the guise of Changai Sabha in Pasia village under Baghi (Bagicha) police station area of the district on Monday. Officials said police have taken this action on the complaint of villager Hariram Nagvanshi. He said that Nagvanshi had complained to the police that on the 20th of this month, pastors and pastors of the Christian community were preaching Christianity while organizing the Changai Sabha at the house of Dilip Nagvanshi, a resident of the village.

According to Hariram, about 50 people, including women and children, had gathered at Dileep's house when other villagers reached his house. Pastors and pastors were asking those present to leave Hinduism and convert to Christianity. Officials said police have arrested the pastor and three pastors on Hariram's complaint. A case has been registered against him under various sections of the IPC and Chhattisgarh Freedom of Religion Act.
