Recently, the central government has launched a special app, which is going to provide relief to customers who buy gold. Through this app, customers can find out what is the quality of gold and how it is so good. This app is BIS-Care. This app has been launched by Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan. It is now being told that customers will be able to use the app to check the authenticity of ISI and Hallmark quality certified products. In addition to the investigation, if you want, you can also file your complaint on it. This app will work in Hindi and English. You can run it on any Android phone.

It will be available for free from Google Play Store. The government has given relief to jewelers on the hallmarking of gold. Now to ensure the quality of gold jewelry and artifacts, the time limit for making hallmarking mandatory on it has been extended. Now the limit has been made on 1 June 2021. Recently, Consumer Affairs Minister Ram Vilas Paswan said that due to Covid-19, the government has deferred the time limit for more than 4 months. Hallmarking of gold is currently voluntary.

In November last year, the Center had announced to make it mandatory from 15 January 2021. Jewelry vendors were given more than a year to adopt hallmarking and registration in the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). After the new changes, jewelers will be allowed to sell only 14, 18, and 22-carat gold jewelry from June 1 next year.
