Covid's new variant Omicron is rapidly expanding in the country. In Rajasthan, another 52 people have been confirmed to be infected with the new variant omicron of covid infection. A total of 121 people have been reported infected with omicrons in the state till Saturday. A state Medical and Health Ministry spokesperson said that a total of 52 new cases of omicron were reported in the state on Saturday out of which 38 cases have been confirmed in Jaipur, 3 each in Pratapgarh, Sirohi, Bikaner, two in Jodhpur and 1 each in Ajmer, Sikar and Bhilwara.

He said Rajasthan has heard 301 new cases of covid infection separate from Omicron on Saturday, including 192 cases in the capital Jaipur, 32 in Jodhpur, 14 in Alwar, 13 in Kota, 9 in Bhilwara and 8 in Bharatpur. He has said that 1,247 coronavirus patients are currently under treatment in the state.

According to the spokesperson, nine of the patients infected with omicron have returned from foreign travel, 4 persons came in contact with foreign passengers while 12 have returned from travel to other states. Two people have been infected with people infected before omicron. All of them are being kept in a special ward of RUHS Hospital. So far, 121 people have been infected with the new variant of coronavirus, Omicron, in the state. 61 people were cured of the infection.
