Ambikapur: An incident of a woman being raped and threatened to be made viral by a criminal after raping her in Ambikapur, Chhattisgarh has come to light. Police have arrested the culprit from Shamli in Uttar Pradesh. The case pertains to a Gandhinagar police station area where the woman was raped and made an obscene video of her by the criminals. On the complaint of the victim, several teams of police were pressed into service to nab the culprit.
In many areas of Uttar Pradesh including Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, and Rajasthan, the police wandered in search of the culprit for five days, after which the accused was arrested from Shamli and brought to Ambikapur by the police. The victim, a resident of the Gandhinagar police station area of Ambikapur, had lodged a complaint of rape at the police station. In the complaint, it was said that he had met a man who worked as a hawker. Thereafter, taking the victim in his trap, the criminal raped her. Due to this, the criminal also made an obscene video from the mobile, since then the victim was being threatened by the criminal to make the video viral.
Taking a serious view of the complaint of the victim, a special team led by district SP Bhawna Gupta and City CSP was constituted and directed to arrest the culprit. The special police team was searching for the culprit in several areas of Uttar Pradesh including Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, and Rajasthan for 5 days. With the help of the cyber cell, the police team finally got success. The culprit was arrested from the Shamli district of UP. The accused boy has been sent to jail on judicial remand while taking action under sections 376, 67, 67A, IT Act. Police have also recovered the phone of the criminal.
