Jamshedpur: An incident of disrespect to the national flag tricolor has come to light in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. In Ghatshila, about 60 km from the city, the headmaster of a middle school, Safaq Iqbal, has been accused of forcing students to clean tables and chairs with the national flag. At the same time, the headmaster clarified that the rat had cut the flag, so it was cut into pieces with scissors.

As soon as the news of the incident was received, the villagers and parents of the children studying in the school surrounded the school and started creating a ruckus. People demanded that a case be registered against the headmaster of the school, Safaq Iqbal. As soon as the news of the ruckus was received, Zila Parishad member Karan Singh reached the school and inquired about the matter from the headmaster, parents, and villagers. Subsequently, the District Education Officer was informed. Also, to avoid violation of law and order, information was given to Sub-Divisional Executive Magistrate Jaiprakash Karmali and demanded that the matter be investigated and action should be taken against the headmaster immediately.  

The villagers demanded that action be taken against the headmaster and that a case of sedition be registered. It is an insult to the national flag. At the same time, two students of the school opened the school almirah and showed the flag through which tables and chairs got cleaned. On receiving the news, Block Education Extension Officer Subodh Rai and Executive Magistrate Keshav Bharti along with the police reached the school and took information about the matter. They lashed out at headmaster Safaq Iqbal and said, "You don't know what is the importance of the national flag.''

The officer told the headmaster that despite being a teacher, you have committed such a crime. Of course, you will be booked with departmental action. Headmaster Safaq Iqbal said he was not aware that cutting the flag was a crime. The remaining flags were placed inside the almirah. At the same time, two students of the school, Reema Namata, and Varsha Namata told the Executive Magistrate and Block Education Extension Officer that one student was holding the national flag, the headmaster sir cut it with scissors and made us clean the table and chair with the flag. Executive Magistrate Keshav Bharti said that from the information received from students, teachers, and people of the village, it seems that headmaster Safaq Iqbal has committed a big mistake. He has been found guilty and action will be taken against him. According to the report, a complaint has been lodged against the headmaster at the police station. The district councilor has lodged this case in the police station on his behalf.
