Chandigarh: There was a stir in the Sonepat district court premises of Haryana after firing. A person named Ved Prakash was shot dead by two bike-borne assailants outside the chamber number 207 of the district court and fled the spot. As soon as the information about the murder was received, teams of Sonipat Police and Crime Branch reached the spot and started investigation. The police have taken the body in possession and sent it to the civil hospital for post-mortem.
Vedprakash, a resident of village Mukimpur, had married a girl named Kanika, a resident of the village last year. Since then there was a fight going on in the family of Ved Prakash and Kanika. It is alleged that the girl's father Vijay Pal, along with one of his companions, first killed the daughter Kanika and then threw her body in the Ganges canal. Ved Prakash was the main witness in the wife's murder case and when he reached the court to testify, he was gunned down by two bike-borne assailants outside chamber number 207 and he died on the spot. The accused fled from the spot after committing the crime. Let us tell you that there have been gang wars in Sonepat court many times before.
City police station in-charge Wazir Singh has told on this matter that a person named Ved Prakash has been shot dead. Ved Prakash had married last year with Kanika, a girl from the village and it is alleged that Kanika was killed by her father Vijaypal. Ved Prakash was the main witness in this case and he had come to testify in the court today (Friday) after which two miscreants on a bike fired three bullets and lost their lives. The police have intensified efforts to arrest the accused by registering a case of murder in the entire case.
