Indian Navy rescued 186 people from Tauktae storm-hit P-305 ship, 50 still missing

New Delhi: Tauktae storm has finally passed, but the cyclone has left behind a spell of devastation. Out of 273 people on board the P-305 barge, which sank in the Arabian Sea, 188 people have been rescued by the Indian Navy so far, out of which 37 people have died while 50 are still said to be missing.

According to a Navy official, it was the small ship which was parked about 70 km from Mumbai, it sank after being trapped in the cyclone. Meanwhile, the Indian Navy has reported that the warship INS reached Mumbai on Wednesday morning (May 19, 2021) with 125 of the 186 people rescued from the Kochi P-305. The bodies of 22 people were also brought along with him. According to a Navy spokesperson, search operations are being carried out with the help of INS Teg, INS Betwa, INS Beas, पी8I aircraft and helicopters. However, with the passage of time, people's hopes of survival are also diminishing. On the other hand, a team of Navy and Coast Guard rescued 137 people trapped in cheek constructors safely on Tuesday (May 18, 2021).

Officials said, 196 people on Barge SS-3 and 101 people present at Oil Rig (Oil Well) Sagar Bhushan are safe. Everybody is being brought to the coast. Vice Admiral Murlidhar Sadashiv, Deputy Chief of the Indian Navy, described the rescue operation as the toughest operation in the last four decades.
