Actress Ritwika Gupta who has been seen in shows like "Gumraah – End of Innocence" on Channel V, “Sawaare Sabke Sapne Preeto” on NDTV Imagine and "Girls on Top" on MTV says she has so many more dreams to achieve. Recently her film ‘The Intruder’ won at several prestigious film festivals like Tagore International Film Festival, Mumbai International Film Awards, Port Blair International Film Festival, L’Age d’Or International Arthouse Film Festival, Golden Sparrow International Film Festival and Nawada International Film Festival. It’s also been nominated for Kalakari Film Fest and the globally renowned ‘First-Time Filmmaker Sessions’. Ritwika says she wants to work with good directors in the Hindi film industry alongside even exploring opportunities in the independent space.

The ’Gumraah’ actress has also worked in the South Industry and did many international projects for The History Channel, TravelXP, Nippon TV Japan and more.

Speaking about her journey, Ritwika says, “It’s definitely not been a cakewalk for me. Coming from Singapore and trying to make a mark in Mumbai is not easy but I was always passionate about movies, cinema and art. And all these years, that has kept me going”.

The Bong actress is open to shows or web series that will offer her meaningful roles. “I want to play challenging and substantial parts. I don’t really care if I am on screen for 5 minutes or 25 minutes because I feel even a small role can make a huge impact. Initially I was told to only focus on certain kind of roles but right now, I am not fussy whether I play a negative role or positive or a character with grey shades. For me, the role needs to add value to the entire film or show,” adds Ritwika.

Ritwika is also very popular on social media and shares it’s become a part and parcel of an actor’s profile now. “It’s a great platform to directly interact with people and get feedback on your new work. The best part about being an actor now is that there are so many more new mediums. It’s fascinating,”she signs off.
