Maharashtra leader's strange argument against the memorial

Mumbai: After the death of singer Lata Mangeshkar, who won everyone's heart with her voice in Bollywood, politics has begun over the construction of her memorial. The BJP and Congress leaders have demanded that a memorial of Lata Mangeshkar be built at Shivaji Park. At the same time, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), Shiv Sena and Prakash Ambedkar, grandson of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar, have protested, calling it inspired by politics.

Prakash Ambedkar, the leader of the same Bahujan Aghadi and grandson of Bharat Ratna Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar, said that Shivaji Park should be allowed to remain a park, not a graveyard. The game should be played on the ground and there are many places for the memorial. Ambedkar said, if Lata Mangeshkar was alive, I should have asked why she did not sing Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar's song. Prakash Ambedkar said that Lata Mangeshkar neither sang the songs of Babasaheb nor Sardar Patel and Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.

BJP MLA Ram Kadam and Congress state president Nana Patole have demanded that a memorial be built at Shivaji Park in Dadar where Lata Mangeshkar has been cremated. Shiv Sena MP Priyanka Chaturvedi has termed Ram Kadam's demand as a sniping point. Priyanka Chaturvedi said, "Our party and Lata Mangeshkar Ji had a very deep relationship. They will fully respect the respect she deserves.'' Chaturvedi said that when the whole of India is in a state of grief, it is not right to ask for a memorial. This is not the right time for this kind of discussion.
