Kochi: The uproar over the Vaikom Satyagraha of Congress in Kerala is not taking the name of stopping. During the Vaikom Satyagraha, veteran Congress leader K Muraleedharan was not even given a chance to speak, due to which the Congress has been cornered. On Saturday, April 1, Congressman Shashi Tharoor also termed the incident humiliating. Tharoor said that senior leaders should not be treated like this if the party has to move forward properly. Tharoor said that Muraleedharan is a senior leader. He has also been the President of the Kerala Congress. He has played an important role in the party. It is not proper to insult a senior person in this way. Let me tell you, Muraleedharan's late father, K Karunakaran, was also a veteran Congress leader. Along with this, he has also been the CM of Kerala.

Let us inform you that earlier, Muralitharan had said on Friday, March 31, that he had been deliberately sidelined. Two other former Kerala Congress chiefs, Ramesh Chennithala and MM Hassan, were given an opportunity to speak, but Muralidharan was not. He said three former KPCC presidents were present on the dais. Of these, Hassan and Chennithala were given a chance to speak. But I was not given the opportunity, which shows that they ignored me. Deliberately sidelined me. Muraleedharan said that "I have informed Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal and KPCC Chief K Sudhakaran to let me know if my services are no longer required by the party."

At the same time, Chennithala said that there was no need to make an issue out of it. Since Congress National President Mallikarjuna had to leave early, he might not have been given a chance to speak. On this, Congressman Shashi Tharoor said that if there was a paucity of time, the programme should have started a little earlier.
