The German luxury carmaker, Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (BMW) will open bookings for the M340i xDrive from 3:40 pm, today March 5, 2021 onwards. The new variant of the 3-Series will be available in limited numbers. Customers can book the car at the BMW Online Shop by paying a sum of Rs. 1 lakh.
The first 40 customers will get entry into a Driver Training program that will be conducted at a race track in India. The M340i xDrive is a sportier version of the 3-Series. It gets M-specific chassis tuning, all-wheel drive and an M Sport rear differential. BMW will also offer three M Performance Accessory packages - Enthusiast Pack, Racer's Pack and Motorsport Pack.
The M340i xDrive is powered by a twin-turbo 3.0-litre inline 6-cylinder engine producing 377 BHP @ 5,500-6,500 rpm and 500 Nm @ 1,850-5,000 rpm. The engine is paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission and power is sent to all four wheels. The 0-100 km/h time is claimed to be 4.4 seconds.
