Patna: These days, marriage of lovers in Bihar is happening more in temples than at home. In the last one month, apart from Jehanabad, Arwal, Sitamarhi and Munger, in many areas of Bihar, the marriage of lovers took place in the temple or police station. Meanwhile, another incident has come from Peshaur village of Rahui police station area of Nalanda. Where on Wednesday the boyfriend and girlfriend reached secretly to meet each other. He did not know that the people around were watching him. People caught him red handed and took him to the village. Panchayat took place and tied both of them in marriage. Due to this the boy tried to protest but someone got him and both of them married.
Actually, Ajit Paswan, a resident of Alinagar village of Barbigha police station area of Sheikhpura district, had come to his brother's in-laws' village Peshaur. Ajit Paswan was secretly meeting his brother's sister-in-law for the last 3 months. Ajit again came to his brother's in-laws' house to meet his girlfriend. Caught both on Wednesday. Then the family of the young man was called and with the help of the villagers, both were married in the Shiva temple of the village. The loving couple said that they are getting married with approval. There was no coercion on them.
Some people are calling the marriage of loving couples one after the other in the temple as a social change, while some are justifying such marriages by terming the daughter's father's compulsion. These marriages have been done without dowry and without any frills. There is no cost to either side. Only the bride and groom go to the temple and get married. This change is proving beneficial for many people.
