Even before an inter-school tournament, coaches are seen drawing strategies, for the team to ride upon. CSK has just managed to bring in a new trend.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni in one of his media interactions revealed that the meeting of the CSK team before the IPL final lasted for just 5 seconds.
The team won by 8 wickets, accompanying a perfect hundred by Shane Watson, against Sun Risers Hyderabad.
The players were just asked to enjoy themselves and not worry about the victory or defeat.
Dhoni allegedly shared that according to him, at that point of time, they were pretty relaxed about how they would conduct themselves all through the tournament. And everybody understood their role and responsibilities very well. He added, that at such a point you need to address something only if it really needs to be addressed. He revealed that the team meeting that they had, lasted hardly five seconds. Stephen Fleming, the head coach of CSK was like: ‘Go, get it boys.’ And it got over. Dhoni feels it as one of the secrets why CSK has continued to do that (winning the IPL). M S Dhoni said that they do not have too many meetings because they’ve played together and against each other for so long, that they know the conditions well, and they know exactly how they need to operate.
