New Delhi: The all-new "Black Storm" edition of MG Motor's flagship SUV, the Gloster, has been released in India. It has an ex-showroom starting price of Rs. 40.3 lakh. There are four different versions of the special edition SUV. It uses the same 2.0-liter, twin-turbocharged diesel engine as the standard model and has a Metal Black paint job with red accents all over.

SUVs have become the most popular body type globally in recent years. Almost all automakers are introducing new SUV offerings in order to capitalise on the trend.In February of this year, Tata Motors released the Red Dark edition of the Safari. The model quickly rose to fame.Now, the Gloster from British automaker MG Motor follows a similar design path.

The MG Gloster Black Storm edition features a distinctive Metal Black paint job with numerous red accents to set it apart from the standard model. The ORVMs, door panels, front and rear skid plates, and headlight clusters all have red garnishing.

The SUV sports a sculpted hood, 19-inch blacked-out wheels, wrap-around LED taillights, LED projector headlamps with integrated DRLs, and quad exhaust tips.

The standard model's 2.0-liter twin-turbocharged diesel engine powers the MG Gloster Black Storm edition. It produces 480Nm of peak torque and 215hp of maximum power. The engine is connected to an 8-speed automatic gearbox with an all-wheel drive option.

The MG Gloster Black Storm edition's interior is completely black, with red dashboard trim, leather seating, centre console switches, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, floor mats, and door pads.

It features a 12.28-inch infotainment system, ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, automatic climate control, and red ambient lighting. Multiple airbags and Level-1 ADAS features protect passengers.

In India, the six/seven-seater 2WD trim levels of the MG Gloster Black Storm edition cost Rs. 40.3 lakh, and the top-of-the-line six/seven-seater 4WD models cost Rs. 43.08 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom). It can now be reserved online or through the brand's authorised dealers.
