When Google revoked Huawei’s Android license on May 20, it seemed to be the beginning of Huawei’s backup plan to switch to its own OS, which was internally called HongMeng OS. Now we have learned that Huawei’s own OS will most likely be called Ark OS. The information came from Huawei's trademark request to the EUIPO (European Union Intellectual Property Office) for HUAWEI ARK OS, HUAWEI ARK, ARK and ARK OS, made on 24 May.

It is definitely known that this operating system can be used on smartphones, tablets, modems, routers, televisions, laptops, smart watches, computers and many other electronic devices. However, of course, most people worry when it comes out for phones. The platform under the codename HongMeng (Ark OS) will be released in China only at the end of 2019, that is, in November-December, and in the international market, the Android alternative will only appear in 2020, and far from the fact that this will happen in the first half year.

It is not clear at what stage of development is Ark Huawei OS. But it is fair to say that the manufacturer has been thinking about a separate OS since 2015. A recent report said that Huawei is negotiating with Aptoide to replace the Google Play Store.
