The ground at the foothills of the historic Maharani Lakshmibai fort in Jhansi is now to be named after the 'General Bipin Rawat' ground. The proposal has been unanimously approved in the municipal house meeting on Saturday. The naming process is going to be completed soon. General Rawat, who came to Jhansi on November 19, addressed the Army program from the same ground.

On November 19, on the birth anniversary of Rani Laxmibai, the Rashtra Raksha Samarpan Parv was organized by the Indian Army, in which PM Modi, along with the Defense Minister, CDS General Bipin Rawat also reached Jhansi. Here the program was organized on the grounds of the fort, which started with General Rawat's address. In his 3.24-minute address, General Rawat gave an SMS to convey the glory of the queen to the people. Meanwhile, he had also recited a few lines from the poem 'Khoob Ladi Mardaani...' in honor of the queen. After his death in a helicopter accident in the past, there was mourning in Jhansi too.

In a meeting of the Municipal House on Saturday to pay homage to the General on behalf of Jhansi, a proposal was moved by the MLA Ravi Sharma to name the fort ground after General Rawat, which has been unanimously approved by the House.
