Aizawl: As per the government bulletin, the Mizoram state COVID-19 tally now stands at 1,01,327, of which 16,005 are active. Because the novel corona virus has been confirmed in 1,471 more people. The death toll rose to 335 as 4 more people succumbed to the infection. With 1,369 people on Tuesday, 84,987 people have recovered from the infection. The health department said the new 1,471 Covid-19 cases reported on Wednesday are 210 fewer than the previous day, while the positivity rate has come down to 15.36 per cent from the previous day's 18 per cent.

With the new cases, at least 92 persons per 1000 population have already been infected with COVID-19. The recovery rate in Kovid-19 patients is 83.87 percent and the mortality rate is 0.33 percent. Mizoram has conducted over 11.40 lakh sample tests for COVID-19, including 9,577 on Tuesday. State Immunization Officer Dr. Laljavmi said that more than 6.83 lakh people have been vaccinated, out of which 4.55 lakh people have received the full dose of COVID-19 vaccine till Tuesday.

According to the bulletin, Aizawl district has reported the highest number of 64,589 COVID-19 cases so far, followed by Lunglei district at 7,577 and Kolasib district at 7,177. Of the 335 COVID-19 fatalities, Aizawl district reported the highest at 249, followed by Kolasib (21) and Lavangtalai (21). Of the 11 districts in the state, Khawajawal has not reported any COVID-19 death so far, it said.
