Purnia: These days a Tughlaqi decree of the village panchayat in Purnia, Bihar remains a topic of discussion. Against this order of the panchayat, the rape victim along with her mother is wandering from door to door for justice. The incident is in the Kasba police station area of Purnia. In Bareta village, two boys forcibly raped a girl who went out to defecate. The victim girl had come to her brother-in-law's place. Due to this, when she went out to defecate, Rihan and Ishtiaq, two criminals from the neighborhood caught her and took her to a secluded place and carried out the incident of rape.
The victim girl gave her Tahrir to her family members and villagers. Thereafter, the villagers organized a panchayat in the village to save both the criminals. While issuing the Tughlaqi decree, the Panchayat people talked about getting the victim married soon. It was told in the panchayat, forgetting what has happened, move forward. The Panchayat issued a decree that the victim girl should be married to another youth. Hearing this decree of the Panchayat, the victim was shocked and she has now appealed to the police for justice.
Apart from the criminals, the victim has lodged a complaint with the Kasba police station against the villagers who forced her to marry another youth. Seeing the laxity of the police station in the incident, the victim has appealed to the SP for justice. Amit Kumar, in charge of Kasba police station, said that the victim and her mother are in constant touch with the police so that they cannot be harassed by the village panchayat. The investigation of the case is going on and they will get justice. The villagers are angry with them for not following the orders of the Panchayat and they can be attacked at any time.
