Puri: Cyclone 'Jawad' is likely to weaken under deep pressure before hitting the Odisha-Andhra Pradesh coast by Saturday afternoon. This was stated by the authorities in the latest information. After which these eastern coastal states, which have been hit by 'Roses' and 'Yass' in the last one year, are hoping for relief from the Cyclone Jawad.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said, "It is expected to gradually weaken and move northwards in the next 12 hours and can then reach Puri as a deep pressure zone towards the coast of Odisha towards the north. The bulletin said that Jawad is then expected to weaken further and move north-northeast wards from Odisha to the West Bengal coast. Weatherman U S Das of Bhubaneswar's Meteorological Centre said it could hit the coast of Puri as deep pressure after weakening in the sea. '

Special Relief Commissioner P K Jena had informed on Friday that the cyclone may hit around Puri district before leaving the Bay of Bengal. He tweeted on Saturday that, 'There is a little good news. Jawad may weaken by the time he reaches the puri coast. This information was received in the latest bulletin of the Met department. '
