New Delhi: Preparations for the General Budget for FY 2020-21 are at a peak. According to sources, the ceremony of Halwa Ceremony will be completed on January 20. After this ceremony, the work of printing the budget starts formally. This time, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the Union Budget on 1 February 2020. This will be his second budget in the second term of the Modi government.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has a lot of challenges in this budget, because the economy is not in good shape. The main problem facing the government is to stop the declining growth rate and unemployment. This time, the first phase of the budget session will run from 31 January to 11 February 2020 and the second phase will be from 2 March to 3 April 2020. The Ministry of Finance, NITI Aayog and other Ministries of Government take part in the budget-making process.

The Ministry of Finance issues guidelines on an annual basis. After this, the ministries have to tell about their demand. Halwa ceremonies are celebrated before starting the printing of all budget-related documents. The official printing of budget documents in the basement of the Finance Ministry starts with Halwa Ceremony. This time Halwa Ceremony is taking place 10 days ahead of budget.
