Ranchi: A case of a prisoner from Ranchi, Jharkhand, being hanged has been heard at Hotwar jail. The jail administration was also astonished by the tragedy; authorities said that the inmate was depressed and had been sick for a long time. The jail management, on the other hand, has filed a suicide complaint at the Khelgaon police station after the case was discovered.

The body of a prisoner called Virendra Munda was discovered hanging from the gallows at Birsa Munda Central Jail in Hotwar, according to reports. The prisoner is reported to be 32 years old.Virendra, a native of Raitoli in Ranchi's Lapung police station area, was caught by the police in a murder case and transferred to the central jail in July. Because then, he has been here, but Virendra has been depressed since his father died in the middle of the year.

 

Virendra's health abruptly deteriorated on November 15, following which he was admitted to the jail hospital, but he hung himself in the hospital room on Saturday night, according to Jail Superintendent Hamid Akhtar. He said that he was under a lot of stress and that he was always fighting with other inmates. On the other hand, Khelgaon police station in-charge Lalan Singh said that a suicide case has been registered by the jail administration and postmortem of the youth has been conducted under close supervision.
