Dehradun: The woman approached the police station to lodge a complaint of rape against former NSUI general secretary Tarun Sah, but here instead of helping the victim, a disgusting condition was placed before her in the police station. The SO was suspended following a complaint from the DGP. A complaint was lodged against the suspended SO under Section 7 of the Corruption Act, Section 354 of the Molestation Act and Section 506 of threatening the victim.

A woman from Haldwani had lodged a report against Tarun Sah at Mukhani police station on April 26, 2022, under other sections, including rape. According to the woman, when she approached Mukhani SO Deepak Bisht to hold talks in connection with the arrest of the culprit, he started pressurising her to have physical relations by demanding Rs 5 lakh from her.

She tried to complain to the higher authorities but there was no hearing anywhere, she reached the DGP's office. The matter was investigated on the orders of the DGP. SSP Pankaj Bhatt said that the preliminary inquiry was given to CO Traffic Vibha Dixit. Subsequently, sp crime and traffic Dr Jagdish Chandra was handed over the investigation. The investigation was handed over to SP City Harbans Singh on duty during sp crime's Kanwar yatra. Based on the facts revealed in the investigation, the SO was suspended. On the other hand, due to the hearing in the court, the woman accused the Suspended SO and pleaded for justice. When the High Court took cognizance of the matter and reprimanded it, the Nainital police also swung into action and lodged a complaint against the suspended SO on Tuesday night. SSP Nainital Pankaj Bhatt said that after the investigation, a report has been lodged in the case and the investigation has been handed over to CO Ramnagar Baljit Singh Bhakuni. Further action will be taken on the basis of facts that come out in the discussion.
